Hey guys, I have two important announcements concerning re-entry at New Life! The elders have set May 24th as the official day to re-enter at New Life. We will offer a 9am and 11am service with no more than 25 participants in the sanctuary and 20 participants in the fellowship hall as an overflow room. Preparing to re-enter Day 1 / May 14th Scripture Passage: Psalm 31:14-16 But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord, I say, “You are my God.” My times are in Your hand; Deliver me from the hand of my enemies and from those who persecute me. Make Your face to shine upon Your servant; Save me in Your lovingkindness. Remember: The circumstances of our lives are directed under the sovereign hand of God. Prayer: God help me remember that you are working all things out for my good and your glory! Day 2 / May 15th Scripture Passage: Proverbs 8:32-36 “Now therefore, O sons, listen to me, For blessed are they who keep my ways. “Heed instruction and be wise, And do not neglect it. “Blessed is the man who listens to me, Watching daily at my gates, Waiting at my doorposts. “For he who finds me finds life And obtains favor from the Lord. “But he who sins against me injures himself; All those who hate me love death.” Remember: God blesses those that listen to His counsel Prayer: As we seek to be more like Jesus in our response and reaction to what’s escalating around us, may our leaders also seek Your face as they seek wisdom. Day 3 / May 16th Scripture Passage: Psalm 46:1-3 God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change And though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea; Though its waters roar and foam, Though the mountains quake at its swelling pride. Remember: God provides safety for His people. Prayer: Lord, bring comfort those with long-term health complications within our church family. Pray that they would know that their times are in His hands. Day 4 / May 17th Scripture Passage: Isaiah 40:9-10 Get yourself up on a high mountain, O Zion, bearer of good news, Lift up your voice mightily, O Jerusalem, bearer of good news; Lift it up, do not fear. Say to the cities of Judah, “Here is your God!” Behold, the Lord God will come with might, With His arm ruling for Him. Behold, His reward is with Him And His recompense before Him. Remember: God uses His people to share the good news of Jesus. Prayer: God help us remember that by your grace we have the privilege to share the good news of Jesus with those in our world. Day 5 / May 18th Scripture Passage: Psalm 146:8-10 The Lord opens the eyes of the blind; The Lord raises up those who are bowed down; The Lord loves the righteous; The Lord protects the [g]strangers; He supports the fatherless and the widow, But He thwarts the way of the wicked. The Lord will reign forever, Your God, O Zion, to all generations. Praise the Lord! Remember: God alone is our healer! Prayer: God help us to remember that you are Lord over all. Nothing is impossible for you! Day 6 / May 19th Scripture Passage: Psalm 91:5-10 You will not be afraid of the terror by night, Or of the arrow that flies by day; Of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, Or of the destruction that lays waste at noon. A thousand may fall at your side And ten thousand at your right hand, But it shall not approach you. You will only look on with your eyes And see the recompense of the wicked. For you have made the Lord, my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place. No evil will befall you, Nor will any plague come near your tent. Remember: Because of the relationship we have with God through Christ we can have confidence in His goodness without fear. Prayer: God do not let me be controlled by fear. Help me keep my hope in you because you are my refuge. Day 7 / May 20th Scripture Passage: Psalm 46:8-10 Come, behold the works of the Lord, Who has wrought desolations in the earth. He makes wars to cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two; He burns the chariots with fire. “Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Remember: God is exalted among the nations. His glory is throughout the whole earth! Prayer: Pray that God will use our current pandemic to exalt His glory among the nations. Day 8 / May 21st Scripture Passage: Psalm 86:11-13 Teach me Your way, O Lord; I will walk in Your truth; Unite my heart to fear Your name. I will give thanks to You, O Lord my God, with all my heart, And will glorify Your name forever. For Your lovingkindness toward me is great, And You have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol. Remember: Those who seek to know God learn to walk in His truth and glorify His name forever. Prayer: God help our faith community know you and walk in you truth so we can be counted as true worshipers! Day 9 / May 22nd Scripture Passage: Psalm 46:8-11 Come, behold the works of the Lord, Who has wrought desolations in the earth. He makes wars to cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two; He burns the chariots with fire. “Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our stronghold. Remember: Be still and know that God is available. Prayer: Lord, help me be still and know that you are God. Day 10 / May 23rd Scripture Passage: Isaiah 43:18-19 “Do not call to mind the former things, Or ponder things of the past. “Behold, I will do something new, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert. Remember: Do not look to the past but look forward to the new thing that God is doing.
