Core Seminar on Evangelism

This summer is going to be packed with opportunities for you to share your faith with others. This Sunday evening at 5:30 p.m. we will start a core seminar focused on Evangelism. The seminar will take place on May 20 and June 3. I want to encourage you to make plans to attend. My prayer is that this evangelism class will serve to remind us that we are all missionaries serving to advance the gospel to the next generation

I also want to encourage you to begin the practice of praying for the missionaries at our church. There are several from New Life that will be going to other countries throughout the summer. Here are 5 specific prayers that you can begin to pray for the missionaries at New Life:

1. Pray for Open Doors – “Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving; praying at the same time for us as well, that God will open up to us a door for the word…” (Colossians 4:2-3)

2. Pray for Boldness in Witness – “And pray on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel…” (Ephesians 6:19)

3. Pray that God’s Word Will Spread – “Finally, brethren, pray for us that the word of the Lord will spread rapidly and be glorified…” (II Thessalonians 3:1)

4. Pray for Their Ministry – “Pray…that my service for Jerusalem may prove acceptable to the saints…” (Romans15:31)

5. Pray for God’s Guidance – “Pray…so that I may come to you in joy by the will of God…” (Romans 15:32)

As we prepare for VBS and CityServe, let’s join together in the common practice of prayer with anticipation that God is going to do great things.
