Simply put, Route 66 is the name of our reading through the 66 books of the Bible in one year. Our journey through God’s Word is arranged in a systematic and chronological fashion of daily segmented readings. The readings span six of the seven week days (Monday-Saturday) giving Sunday as a day of rest—or a day to catch up if you fall a little behind.
More important than the structural aspect of Route 66 is the spiritual aspect. As you journey through God’s precious Word you will see that it is not a collection of 66 unrelated books written at whim by a variety of people over hundreds of years. Rather, you will see His Word as a collection of inspired writings by people chosen by the Spirit that collectively tell God’s plan for redeeming fallen man. You will come to the realization that history is actually HIS-STORY. Furthermore, you will see that “the story of Scripture is your story.” If this is unclear to you, we encourage you to commit to read through the living Word and allow the Spirit to work and move in your life—He’ll clear things up!
Our logo for Route 66 is seen above. It is similar to the standard US highway signs except for the addition of the names of all 66 books of the Bible within the shield from top to bottom.
